Montgomery County Police To Host Food Drive On June 11

The Montgomery County Police Department announced they will be hosting a food drive, No Empty Plates For People and Their Pets, on June 11 to provide members of the community with essential food items.

Many of the area’s residents have struggled with food security due to the COVID-19 crisis. However, people are not the only ones impacted. Their pets may also suffer. In order to aid both people and their pets, the police department is partnering with the Montgomery County Partners for Animal Well-Being (McPaw). Along with non-perishable food items, dog, cat and kitten food are also suggested donation items.

The Manna Food Center is also a partner for the food drive.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the curbside drop off site, 100 Edison Park Drive in Gaithersburg. People dropping off donations will be able to stay inside their car while a volunteer retrieves their items.
