Armed Robberies Reported in County Police Crime Summary

Montgomery County police reported several armed robberies in the latest crime summary.

On Aug. 5, police arrested a 21-year-old Rockville man for an armed robbery that occurred in the 12500 block of Village Square Terrace about 7:36 p.m. The victim was a juvenile male whose property was taken.

A 31-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the area of Fenton Street and Thayer Avenue about 8:37 p.m. Aug. 2. The robber displayed a weapon and tried to take the two adult victims’ property.

The man also was charged with an aggravated assault that occurred at the Ben & Jerry’s  at 901 Ellsworth Drive about 10:42 p.m. Aug. 2. The robber displayed a weapon.

Four men, between the ages of 17 and 20, are sought in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle at about 9 p.m. Aug. 4. One man displayed a weapon. The men assaulted the adult male victim and tried to take his property.

Two men are sought for an armed robbery that occurred at the CVS Pharmacy at 9520 Georgia Ave. at about 9:45 p.m. Aug. 8. One man displayed a weapon and stole cash.

Two men and two women are sought for an armed robbery that occurred in the 14400 block of Stepping Stone Way about 11:10 p.m. Aug. 2. One robber displayed a weapon. The robbers assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

Rockville:

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 12200 block of Wilkins Avenue between about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and about 7:15 a.m. Aug. 2. Force; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between about 10 p.m. Aug. 3 and about 5:21 p.m. Aug. 4. Affected streets included Travilah Road, Riding Fields Road and Natia Manor Drive. No force, all vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; nothing was taken.

Bethesda:

Police seek a man for a commercial burglary that occurred at the TW Perry at 9015 Brookeville Road in the early morning hours of Aug. 3. Forced entry; property was taken.

Police seek a man for a burglary that occurred at the Church in Bethesda at 5033 Wilson Lane between about 9 p.m. Aug. 3 and about 8 a.m. Aug. 4. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

A 30-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested for a residential burglary that occurred in the 5000 block of Wilson Lane at about 6 p.m. Aug. 4. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

A 28-year-old Silver Spring man, a 21-year-old Silver Spring woman and a 28-year-old Takoma Park woman were arrested for an aggravated assault on two adults that occurred in the 4900 block of Cordell Avenue in the early morning hours of Aug. 6.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and about 10 a.m. Aug. 2. Affected streets included Baltimore Avenue, Willard Avenue and South Park Avenue. Force was reported in one event, the other two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash and property were taken.

A man is sought for a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 4700 block of Bradley Boulevard in the early morning hours of Aug. 5. The man assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

Silver Spring:

A 39-year-old Hyattsville man was arrested for a commercial strong-arm robbery that occurred at the 7-Eleven convenience store at 8484 Georgia Ave. about 6:52 a.m. Aug. 3. The robber stole cash.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8300 block of Colesville Road between about 9:45 a.m. Aug. 4 and about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Forced entry; property was taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between Aug. 2 and Aug. 5. Affected streets included Bonifant Street, 1st Avenue, Georgia Avenue and Fenton Street. Force was reported in two events, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked; property and vehicle parts were taken.

Three vehicle thefts occurred in the following areas:

— In the 700 block of Hankin Street between about 9:45 p.m. Aug. 2 and about 6:30 a.m. Aug. 3. The vehicle was reported to have possibly been left unlocked with a spare key left inside the vehicle.

— In the 8700 block of Cameron Street between about 5:30 p.m. and about 8 p.m. Aug. 3. Unknown entry.

— In the 1400 block of Blair Mill Road at about 3:46 a.m. Aug. 7. Unknown entry.

A residential burglary occurred in the 1000 block of Highland Drive between about 12 p.m. July 29 and about 9:52 p.m. Aug. 1. Forced entry; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7. Affected streets included Pershing Drive, Greenbrier Drive, Ellsworth Court and Mayfair Place. Force was reported in one event, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 5. Affected streets included Edgewater Parkway, Mount Pisgah Road, Green Forest Drive and Southwest Drive. Force was reported in one event, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash, property and vehicle parts were taken.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between July 31 and Aug. 7. Affected streets include Olivewood Place, January Drive and Cherry Hill Road. No force; vehicle parts were taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard between about 7 p.m. and about 11 p.m. Aug. 5. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Wheaton:

A burglary of a shipping container occurred in the 1200 block of Ednor Road between about 11 a.m. and about 12 p.m. Aug. 4. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

A residential shed burglary occurred in the 15800 block of Thompson Road between about 12 a.m. and about 7 a.m. Aug. 5. No forced entry, the shed was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 5. Affected streets included Overton Lane, Mills Avenue, Vierling Drive, Sturtevant Road, Cantrell Road and Ansted Road. No force, multiple vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Four vehicle thefts occurred in the following areas:

— In the 13800 block of Mills Avenue between about 7 p.m. Aug. 1 and about 7:30 a.m. Aug. 2. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the keys left inside the vehicle.

— In the 14100 block of Ansted Road between about 12:30 a.m. and about 4 a.m. Aug. 4. Unknown entry; a spare key was reported to have been left inside the vehicle.

— In the 2100 block of Glenallen Avenue between about 6 p.m. Aug. 6 and about 7:20 a.m. Aug. 7. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered Aug. 8.

— In the 2200 block of Greenery Lane between about 3 p.m. Aug. 5 and about 7:58 a.m. Aug. 7. Forced entry. The vehicle was recovered Aug. 8.

A theft of a riding tractor/mower occurred in the 18300 block of Brooke Road between about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 3 and about 6:40 a.m. Aug. 4.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between 07/31 and Aug. 2. Affected streets included the 16000 block of Narrows Terrace and the 15600 block of Twin Valley Court. No force, all four vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 6. Affected streets included Mercury Drive, Veirs Mill Road, Oriental Street, Atherton Drive and Bluhill Road. No force, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash, property and vehicle parts were taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4400 block of Clearfield Road between about 12:30 p.m. and about 5 p.m. Aug. 5. Forced entry; property was taken.

An attempted vehicle theft and theft from vehicle occurred at the same residence in the 12100 block of Edgemont Street between about 7 p.m. Aug. 4 and about 7:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Force; property was taken.

An attempted vehicle theft, theft from vehicle and vehicle theft occurred at the same home in the 3600 block of Randolph Road between about 7 p.m. Aug. 4 and about 7:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Force; property and a spare key left inside the first vehicle was used to steal the second vehicle.

A man, between the ages of 50 and 55, is sought in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle between about 12:45 p.m. and about 1 p.m. Aug. 5. The man assaulted the adult female victim and took her cash and property.

A woman, between the ages of 20 and 25 and two men, ages unknown, are sought in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 12100 block of Dalewood Drive at about 9:40 p.m. Aug. 8. The adult male victim was assaulted and his cash was taken.

Two men are sought, one between the ages of 25 and 30, in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the area of Grandview Avenue and Ennalls Avenue at about 3 p.m. Aug. 4. The men assaulted the adult male victim and took his cash and property.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 800 block of Caddington Avenue between about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and about 6 p.m. Aug. 6. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicle; cash and property were taken.

Germantown:

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between July 31 and Aug. 3. Affected streets included Liberty Heights Lane, Ansel Terrace, Clopper Road and Anchor Lane. No force, all vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash and property were taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 18800 block of Harmony Woods Lane between about 3 p.m. and about 5 p.m. Aug. 4. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Montgomery Village:

Two vehicle thefts occurred in the following areas:

— In the 9600 block of Medical Center Drive at about 4:31 p.m. on 07/31. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered July 31. Police seek a man between the ages of 20 and 29.

— In the 9300 block of Corporate Boulevard between about 7:25 p.m. and about 10 p.m. Aug. 3. Unknown entry.

Three motorcycle thefts occurred in the following areas:

— In the 100 block of Sharpstead Lane between about 11 p.m. Aug. 3 and about 8 a.m. Aug. 4.

— In the 15300 block of Diamond Cove Terrace in the early morning hours of Aug. 4.

— In the 9900 block of Gable Ridge Terrace between about 11:30 a.m. and about 8 p.m. Aug. 4.

Three men are sought in connection with an attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Killarney Lane in the early morning hours of Aug. 8.

A residential burglary occurred in the 18700 block of Walkers Choice Road between about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and about 8:15 a.m. Aug. 5. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between 07/31 and Aug. 3. Affected streets included Lindos Court, Brookridge Court and Thomas Lea Terrace. Force was reported in one event, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; property was taken.

A teenage woman, between the ages of 16 and 17, and 10 or 11 males, ages unknown, are sought in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the area of Brassie Place and Montgomery Village Avenue about 9:20 p.m. Aug. 5. One suspect assaulted the adult female victim while another suspect took her property.

Police seek two men in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 7900 block of Badenloch Way in the early morning hours of Aug. 2. The men assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

Police seek two teenagers, one a 15-year-old from Montgomery Village and the other a 13-year-old from Gaithersburg, as well as three or four others in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the area of Flower Hill Way and Mountain Laurel Way about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5. The suspects assaulted the juvenile male victim and took his property. Two suspects were arrested.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between 07/31 and Aug. 7. Affected streets included Caddy Drive, Caddy Court, Honeylocust Circle and Mountain Laurel Lane. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicles; cash, property and vehicle parts were taken.
