Albornoz: At Least 3,000 Unaccompanied Minors from Mexican Border Expected to Arrive in Montgomery County
Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz said that based on federal data, more than 3,000 unaccompanied minors will be coming to Montgomery County, but he assumes that the number will be even higher with families waiting in México and immigrants that crossed the border having not gone through the asylum process.
Albornoz recently traveled to McAllen, Texas and Reynosa, Mexico with a delegation to see firsthand the immigration crisis at the border.
He talked to MyMCMedia about the terrible conditions there and how the local government here is preparing for the new wave of immigrants.
