Governor to Attend Memorial Service
Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley will attend the 2 p.m. memorial service for Richard Ben Cramer who passed away on Jan. 7.
In addition, the governor has ordered the state house flag to be flown at half mast.
He also issued the following statement:
“I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Richard Ben Cramer of Chestertown, Maryland — a great American, great Marylander, and a dear friend.
“Richard’s work as a gifted writer and deeply principled journalist made our Republic a better place; made us a stronger, more compassionate,
and more understanding people.
“We have lost one of the best political journalists of our times. We have also lost a great patriot, and one of the kindest souls God ever created.”
