Update: Chevy Chase Shootings Followed Home Invasion Robbery
Update, 3:50 p.m.: Two people suffered gunshot wounds early Monday morning during a home invasion robbery, a Montgomery County police statement said.
About 4 a.m., Bethesda police district officers found the man and a woman at an apartment building in the 8400 block of Chevy Chase Lake Terrace, police said. They were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said two men, with their faces concealed, entered the apartment and at least one of them displayed a gun. An altercation ensued and the victims were shot, police said.
Detectives do not believe this is a random event.

The shooting was reported just after 4 a.m. in an apartment in the 8400 block of Chevy Chase Lake Terrace, police said. Police could not confirm the two were residents of the apartment.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and a man suffered from a non-life-threatening injury, according to officials. Police offered no update on their conditions.
