Happy 15th Anniversary – King Farm
I was on hand Saturday for the anniversary party in King Farm. I was asked by Andrea Escher to photograph the event for which those photos would eventually be shared with the community via social media outlets.
I have covered King Farm in the past for the Town Courier so I was quite familiar with the surroundings. The Town Courier paper stopped its coverage back in 2010 and I haven’t been back there with a camera since.
The community came out for an old fashioned block party complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, drinks and of course an Anniversary cake (and cupcakes too).
The band Full Tilt with their brass section played a medley of Tower of Power songs and good ole rock n roll for the capacity crowd.
Even Phyllis Marcuccio, Mayor of Rockville came to make a proclamation and help cut the cake with the King Farm Board of Directors.
Glad to see that this diverse community bordered between I-270, Shady Grove Road, Route 355 and Redland Boulevard has prospered and become a solid new addition to the MoCo landscape.
Happy 15th.
