Sugarloaf Mountain Winery Tour
Tour the Sugarloaf Mountain Winery in Dickerson for $5 per person. Tours are offered on weekends through the end of August and are open to the first 2o people who reserve spots or walk-ins when spots are available. Call 301-605-0130 before going to make sure there is space.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Butler’s Orchard
$3 day pass grants access to Pick Your Own Fields, the Farm Park Picnic Area, the Giant Slides, the Nature Trail, and the Farm Park Animals. Visitors can also see the sheep, two miniature donkeys, goats, and Charlie the Pig. Admission is free for children under a year old.

Chocolate Factory Tour
Learn about the history and art of making fine handcrafted chocolate with a free 30-45 minute tour of SPAGnVola Chocolate Factory. Tours are offered year-round on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Historic White’s Ferry
Hop aboard the last of 100 ferries that used to operate on the Potomac River. This ferry now operates between Whites Ferry Road in Montgomery County, Maryland and a road by the same name in Loudoun County, Virginia. The ferry follows a wire cable to the other side of the Potomac. A one way trip is $5 per person and a round trip is $8 per person.

 

Magruder Branch Stream Valley Trails
Hikers, bikers and equestrians can all enjoy 7.5 miles of natural surface, asphalt and boardwalk for free. The trail provides views of the surrounding forests, the stream, birding opportunities. South of Watkins Road the trail becomes the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail.

Damascus Heritage Society Museum
Filled with historical artifacts, educational resources, art exhibits and more, this museum is currently featuring an exhibit on old cars called “On the Move.” Admission is free and the exhibit is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 9 through September 26. Special tours can be arranged for groups or out-of-town visitors by calling 301-253-2014.
