Woman, 76, Struck and Killed on Muddy Branch Road
A pedestrian was struck and killed on Muddy Branch Road, Montgomery County police said.
Svetlan Bychkova, 76, of the 17000 block of King James Way in Gaithersburg crossing the southbound lanes of Muddy Branch Road at Harmony Hall Road before 8 p.m., police said.
Bychkova was struck by a 2006 Lexus ES 330, operated by Sara Eugenia Rivera, traveling south on Muddy Branch Road, police said. Rivera, 27, of the 800 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg, remained on the scene and provided information to investigators, police said.
Bychkova was taken to Suburban Hospital where she died from her injuries, police said.
This collision remains under investigation. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed this collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
