Police Investigating Burtonsville Shooting

Montgomery County police officers are investigating a possible shooting that happened in Burtonsville Monday afternoon.

According to police, at approximately 2:53 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call to report an assault inside of a vehicle at the intersection of Cedar Tree Drive and Red Maple Court. Third District officers responded to the location and determined that the car was no longer in the area but officers observed evidence on the scene that indicated a possible shooting had occurred in that area.

At approximately 3:22 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center was notified by a local hospital that a male victim had been dropped off at the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
