County Councilmember Sidney Katz Files For Re-Election (VIDEO)

With his wife Sally by his side, Montgomery County Councilmember Sidney Katz, a Democrat, filed his paperwork at the Board of Elections Wednesday as he prepares to run for re-election to his District 3 seat in 2018.  A former mayor of Gaithersburg, Katz is finishing his first term on the County Council and it’s a job he likes. He said his experience is important for the County’s future.

“I’m starting earlier than any of my earlier campaigns,” he said.

Katz faces at least one democratic challenger in the 2018 Gubernatorial Primary Election. Rockville resident Benjamin Glickman Shnider filed his paperwork for the District 3 seat back in May.

One of the issues Katz is concerned about is debt in Montgomery County. He talks about that and some of the other quality of life issues (education, transportation) that residents are talking to him about in this MyMCMedia Extra video, below:
