UPDATED: Police Identify Young Child Dropped Off at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring
UPDATED Montgomery County Police Captain Paul Starks reports the child has been identified within the last hour, and a parent’s identity has been confirmed. In a news release, Montgomery County police said the investigation is ongoing. The post on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website has been removed.

ORIGINAL POST Montgomery County police officers are trying to identify a young child who was dropped off at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring on Sunday, according to a post on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website.
The child is described as a black female, between 2 or 3 years old, who weighs approximately 26 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
The NCMEC website reports that the unidentified child was dropped off at the hospital on May 28th by a woman who said she did not know the child’s parents. According to the web post, which includes a photo of “Jane Doe,” the woman said the child was dropped off at her house by another woman whose whereabouts were unknown.
A spokesperson at Holy Cross Hospital said all calls about “Jane Doe” are being referred to the Montgomery County Police Department.
