Police Release Surveillance Video from Armed Robbery of Dollar City
Montgomery County police detectives released surveillance video Thursday of a May 9 armed robbery of the Dollar City & More in the White Oak Shopping Center. Police are asking the public’s help in identifying the robber.
About 4:30 p.m. May 9, a man entered the store selected merchandise and approached a clerk working at a cash register, police said. When the clerk opened the register to complete the transaction, the man displayed a handgun and demanded money, police said.
The robber threatened to harm the clerk if he was not given the money, and the clerk complied with the robber’s demands, police said. The robber placed the money into his jacket pocket and fled from the store on foot toward the area of Lockwood Drive and July Drive, police said.
The store is at 11231 New Hampshire Ave.
Anyone with information regarding the robber or the robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
