Firefighters Investigate Building Fire in Takoma Park, Damages Estimated at $350,000
UPDATED Dozens of Montgomery County firefighters responded to a building fire near the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Flower Avenue in Takoma Park early today.
The fire was reported at 5 a.m. in the 8600 block of Flower Avenue on Thursday morning.
A fire official said there was smoke throughout the two-story building when firefighters arrived at the building. According to firefighters, it took 25 minutes to contain the fire.
There have been no injuries reported but there were traffic delays in the area during the fire department’s response.
Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer reported on his Twitter account that the fire was ruled accidental.
He said damages are estimated at $350,000.
