Police Investigating Possible Hunting Incident in Brookeville

Montgomery County Police Car Crime Investigation MCP right aligned for slider 855X380Montgomery County police are investigating a possible hunting incident that happened on Oct. 22 in Brookeville.

According to police, at approximately 12:40 p.m., an 87-year-old resident of the 3800 block of Elton Farm Road was walking up hill on his property to his residence when he heard what sounded like a gunshot. The resident said he was struck on his head head by an unknown object, police said.

The resident was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A small metallic projectile was recovered from the man’s head at the hospital, police said.

Montgomery County Police officers and Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) officers canvassed the area but did not locate anyone.

Police believe that the projectile might have unintentionally come from a hunter since the resident’s property is located next to public land that is frequented by hunters.
