1. Local leaders and police are holding a news conference today in Gaithersburg to discuss back to school safety, and the expansion of the school bus camera enforcement program. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students go back to class on Monday!
2. In case you missed it, MCPS is not holding its annual back to school fair this weekend.
3. Surprise! Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky helped kick off the new school year at the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda on Thursday. While another gold medalist, who also hails from Montgomery County, Helen Maroulis, made an appearance at the Nationals game.
