1. Montgomery County Police apprehended 62-year-old Eulalio Tordil after he allegedly shot four people at two area shopping centers on Friday. All County schools were briefly placed on lockdown due to the incident.
2. Metro General Manager Paul Wiedefeld laid out a plan to improve the reliability of Metrorail on Friday. The Washington Metro Area Transit Authority will begin a year long overhaul of the system on June 3. Details of the plan can be found on the Metro website.
3. The Washington Spirit will face off with the Portland Thorns FC at the Maryland Soccer Plex. Tickets for the game can be purchased online.
4. The first ever Poolesville in History Day will kick off today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at 19701 Fisher Avenue.
5. Current middle and high school students are invited to take part in Way2GoMaryland at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville today. Representatives from the University System of Maryland will be onsite to answer questions about preparation for college. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 9630 Gudelsky Drive.
