Police Need Your Help to Identify Homicide Victim Found in Gaithersburg (PHOTOS)

mc police car for slider 450x280Montgomery County police officers continue to investigate the discovery of a homicide victim who was found in a shallow grave in the Great Seneca Stream Valley Park in Gaithersburg.

According to police, the victim was located off the Greenway Trail, approximately 200 yards from Watkins Mill Road.

On Saturday, August 29, at approximately 10:40 a.m., 6th District officers responded to Great Seneca Stream Valley Park to assist officers from the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Montgomery County Division, after human remains were found by individuals participating in a managed hunt in the park. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore ruled this death a homicide due to trauma to the upper torso of the victim.

Investigators have attempted to identify the victim and are now asking for the public’s assistance. The victim is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic male who is believed to be in his late teens to twenties. It is believed that the victim’s body has been in the shallow grave less than six months. It is unknown if the homicide occurred at the location.

Photos of the victim’s clothing and personal effects are being released in hopes that someone may recognize the items or have information about the items.
