Recreation Offers Free Demonstrations (Video)

Be Active MontgomeryMontgomery County’s “Be Active Montgomery!” initiative, launched earlier this year, introduces creative ways for residents to meet their fitness goals. Montgomery County Recreation offers hundreds of activities that fit different lifestyles and interests. With programs that include a calming, holistic approach to fitness through yoga or Tai Chi, to a more dynamic fitness workout such as Zumba or Piloxing, there are programs and classes for everyone.

Free class demonstrations are currently being offered at certain Recreation facilities. Residents can choose to participate in one or all of the demonstrations. Also available this month is a 10 percent discount coupon that can be used for any Recreation class or program, including therapeutic recreation classes. Since 1953 when the department was created, Montgomery County Recreation has remained dedicated to providing inclusive quality recreation programs and activities that serve the recreation and leisure needs of the community. The department manages 35 facilities, including community and neighborhood recreation centers, senior centers, and indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. Thousands of programs are offered, including out-of-school activities, aquatics, classes, youth and adult sports programs and leagues, senior programs and therapeutic recreation that enhance the quality of life for participants of all ages, cultures and abilities.
