Today is Friday, June 4 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. MCPS Graduations: Six more Montgomery County Public Schools hold commencement ceremonies today. Congratulation to B-CC, Damascus, Paint Branch, Walter Johnson, Model Learning School and Churchill students. Families are invited to share their graduate’s photos.

2. COVID-19 Testing and Vaccine Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at seven testing sites today and eight sites over the weekend. Montgomery County clinics are now vaccinating Marylanders age 12 and older. Appointments may be made online here.
3. Live at RedGate Tickets Available: Four days of live music at the RedGate park in Rockville are scheduled to take place from June 23 through June 26. The performances are free, but tickets are required. Starting today, Rockville residents may reserve tickets online, then on June 19, any remaining tickets will be made available to everyone.
4. Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week: This year, Chesapeake Bay Awareness week occurs from Saturday, June 5 through June 13. The week was created to help celebrate the cultures, history and natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay which is the nation’s largest estuary. The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is challenging all residents to create a video to show support and enthusiasm for clean water and the beauty of the Bay. Residents are being challenged to create a video on Instagram or TikTok based on a daily theme.
5. Black Hill Visitor Center Reopens: Starting Saturday, June 5, Black Hill Visitor Center will be open from noon – 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The visitor center includes an information desk, restrooms, exhibits, children’s corner, auditorium, and naturalist staff offices.
