Youth Job Fair in Silver Spring Attracts Hundreds of Job Seekers (PHOTOS)
Hundreds of Montgomery County youth came our for the Let’s Get it Started Youth Job Fair in Silver Spring on March 19. The event was hosted by the Maryland Multicultural Youth Center (MMYC) which is a part of the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC). WorkSource Montgomery and the Montgomery County Department of Recreation also sponsored the job fair.
The annual event provides an opportunity for Montgomery County youth from ages 16-24 to meet face to face with potential employers. Over 50 companies and organizations were on site to interview job seekers and take applications for open positions throughout the county. This is the 11th year that the LAYC has hosted the job fair.
Lupi Quinteros-Grady is the acting director of the Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers.
“MMYC is delighted to host this important event for youth, regional businesses, and community stakeholders. As in years past, we welcome employers who will hire for positions across a number of pathways thriving in Montgomery County and the region including IT, health, construction, maintenance, hospitality, retail, government, and human services,” Lupi Quinteros-Grady said in a news release.
