Younger Residents Can Express Their County Concerns in Upcoming Town Hall Meeting in Rockville

Younger residents will have the chance to voice their concerns at the sixth annual Town Hall Meeting for students on Wednesday October 5^th at the Council Office Building in Rockville.

“More than half of the County’s budget goes to education and educational purposes. In most circumstances, adults talk to other adults about education and what needs to be funded and we don’t hear from students to find out what they’re thinking,” said Legislative Information Officer Neil Greenberger.

The reception begins at 7 p.m. in the building’s second floor cafeteria where students will have the chance to meet with Council-members.

Students in middle school and high school from both private and public schools from across the County will be able to voice their concerns on any aspect of the Montgomery County Public Schools system. Local college students are also encouraged to attend.

There is no cost to attend the Town Hall Meeting and free parking will be available for students traveling to the meeting by car by entering the Council parking garage from the Fleet Street entrance.

Officials say they are expecting a full house and recommend getting there early to secure a seat.
