You Report

Every week, the MyMCMedia.org web team posts dozens of blogs, events, photos and videos on the MyMCMedia.org website. This week, we also began showcasing photos from Montgomery County residents on our new You Report page. Who doesn’t enjoy looking at photos?

You Report is the new landing place for all your photos and videos on the MyMCMedia.org website. The concept is that you (and your neighbors) will report on what’s happening in your community by sending snapshots (and captions) and videos for us to share with our Montgomery County visitors. It’s really easy, too: just email a photo or video to pix@mymcmedia.org and the images and videos will appear on our site.

Some of our first photos on the site included spring landscape scenes, local sporting events, a parade and some people and places. Check it out and you may even spot a celebrity who was recently in the area.

So far, our pet gallery appears to be the most popular for sharing. So if you have a dog or cat or bunny or bird: send a photo to pix@mymcmedia.org so we can include your pet.

We hope you will check out our You Report site and get involved. Certainly, let us know what you think. You can post a note at the end of this blog with your thoughts.

In just a few days, the You Report site will be front and center as we launch our “A Day in the Life of Montgomery County” photo project on April 22. There will even be a viewers’ choice contest for the best photo after the event. On April 22, that’s Earth Day, we are looking for photos around the clock beginning at midnight. Send us a photo from your business, your school, your neighborhood or your favorite hangout. Find out more about how you can participate by watching our informational promo here: archive.mymcmedia.org/a-day-in-the-life-of-montgomery-county-video-5. A page of guidelines may be found here: archive.mymcmedia.org/day.

Remember, MyMCMedia.org is your site. We launched this site to keep you informed about life in Montgomery County, to keep you connected to your neighbors, and to keep you more in the know about our classes and programming schedules. You can find additional information about Montgomery Community Media (MCM) on our site, including how to connect with our production department (do you need a video to promote your services or business?) and to find out our latest programming and class schedules.

We hope you find the information valuable enough to share with your family and friends too. Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to keep up in real time with the latest MCM classes, events and happenings in Montgomery County.

Your feedback is always appreciated and again we hope you will have fun with You Report.
