WUSA 9 Anchor Andrea Roane Announces Retirement During EPIC Awards

After 37 years, WUSA 9 Anchor Andrea Roane announced her retirement during Montgomery Community Media’s Second Annual Excellence in Programming and Innovative Content Awards on April 25.

The event, held at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, honored local journalists and content creators for their contributions to local media. Roane received the EPIC Award for Community Inspired Content for her passionate reporting on breast health issues and promoting the importance of Early Detection in the fight against breast cancer.

She confirmed that her last day on air is scheduled for July 31 and she’s looking forward to turning the alarm clock off.
