Honoring Our World War ll Veterans

Montgomery  County officials will salute those who served our nation 70 years ago and became part of what is now called “the greatest generation.” All from our area who served during World War II are invited to attend and be honored at this special event.

County Executive Isiah Leggett and the Montgomery County Council will  honor the county’s World War II veterans at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Silver Spring Civic Building, 1 Veterans Plaza.

The office of the County Council is seeking the names of veterans to invite to the ceremony. If you a veteran of World War II, or know someone who is, call Susan Mabie at 240-777-7929.

This hour long event will be broadcast live on Montgomery Channel 21 on September 19th starting at 10:30am.
