Women Issues To Be Discussed During Public Forum on April 18

The Maryland Commission for Women (MCW) is inviting both women and men to discuss challenges women face at a public forum on April 18 in Silver Spring.

MCW is continuing its listening tour across the state titled, “Voices of Maryland Women.”

“We want to personally hear from Maryland women,” Yun Jung Yang, co-chair for the Voices of Women Listening Tour said. “We want them to tell us what the problem is because we’re here to listen.”

The Montgomery County Commission for Women will partner with MCW and organizers say the goal is to develop a report with recommendations for improvements in programs, legislation and policies that impact the lives of women statewide.

The meeting will take place at the Silver Spring Civic Center, 1 Veterans Place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Pre-registration is not required but preferred. The event is free and open to the public.
