UPDATED: Woman Struck, Killed Crossing Woodfield Road
UPDATED: Montgomery County police have released the name of the woman killed in the pedestrian accident. Her name is Yuzhi Wang, 76, of Gaithersburg.
Original post: A pedestrian was killed Thursday night in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County police said in a statement.
About 6:27 p.m., a woman was traveling westbound on Emory Grove Road and was crossing the northbound lanes of Woodfield Road when she was struck by a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck, police said.
After the collision, the driver of the pickup remained at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital where she died to her injuries, police said. The driver of the Sierra was not injured in the collision.
The identity of the victim will be released once family has been notified.
