Woman Struck by Car in Rockville, Injuries are Life Threatening
Montgomery County police officers are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred last night in Rockville near the Twinbrook Metro.
Police said the collision occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. at Chapman Avenue and Bouic Avenue.
According to the police department’s preliminary investigation, 63-year-old Esther Contreras was crossing Chapman Avenue in an eastern direction in the area of the marked crosswalk at Bouic Avenue when she was struck by a 2013 Toyota Corolla.
Police said Contreras was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured in the collision.
Police said the collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240.773.6620.
