Woman Dies When Her Motorcycle Hits SUV
A woman died Monday night in Rockville when her motorcycle collided with an SUV making a U-turn, a Montgomery County police statement said.
The woman, identified as Priscilla Anne Alves, 26, of Flack Street in Silver Spring, was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries, police said.
About 6:40 p.m., a 2015 Honda CBR 300 R motorcycle was traveling east on East Gude Drive and collided with a 1999 Lincoln Navigator was traveling west on the street and was trying to make a U-turn onto eastbound East Gude Drive, police said.
The motorcycle and vehicle collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Navigator, identified as Quentin Bernard Wellmaker, 27, of Pear Tree Court in Silver Spring, was not hurt, police said.
County police from the Rockville district, Rockville city police, and fire and rescue personnel responded to the wreck at East Gude Drive and Taft Street, police said.
