Woman Arrested for Child Abuse, Prostitution

A 24-year-old woman was arrested for child neglect, child abuse and prostitution, Takoma Park police said Wednesday.
Danielle Parnell, 24, of no fixed address, Parnell also had an outstanding warrant in Ohio for violation of probation, police said.
About noon Tuesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Myrtle Avenue for a complaint of baby alone in a vehicle, police said. The baby was left in a running vehicle along with a puppy for about one hour.
Upon arrival, officers saw the described vehicle, the baby and the puppy, police said. While on the scene, Parnell came outside and met with officers and indicated she had been inside an apartment earning money as a prostitute, police said.
Parnell was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without incident, police said. The baby, 18 months old, was taken into custody by Child Protective Services, police said.
The puppy, 8 weeks old, was turned over to Animal Control and was immediately adopted, police said.
