UPDATE: Wintry Mix of Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain Less Likely Saturday

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has canceled the winter weather advisory in central and southeast Montgomery County. The advisory remains in effect in northwest Montgomery County.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for Montgomery County. The advisory is in effect from Saturday morning at 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. for central and southeast Montgomery, and through midnight for northwest Montgomery.

A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected with up to one inch of snow and sleet and 0.1 inches of ice accumulation.

A winter weather advisory for snow means that snow, sleet and freezing rain will disrupt travel. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities.

The National Weather Service also warns of gusty winds Sunday afternoon which may cause wind damage. Bitterly cold wind chills well below zero are expected Sunday night into Monday morning.
