White Ground Road Bridge, Montgomery County, Maryland, has reopened.

Bridge Reopens

The Division of Transportation Engineering (DTE) has reopened the White Ground Road Bridge over Buck Lodge Branch, Dawsonville, following a project to reconstruct the bridge built originally around 1950. The project also included extensive stream restoration and rebuilding of 500 feet of approach roadway on either side of the bridge. The new bridge is 48-feet long and 18-feet wide and consists of a single span concrete slab. White Ground Road is designated as an exceptional rustic road, so the one-lane width of the bridge was not altered to maintain its character.
