Where to Volunteer on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2017

Thousands of local residents are expected to honor Dr. King’s life and teaching by taking part in Montgomery County’s MLK Day of Service 2017 on Jan. 16

The annual event, organized by the Montgomery County Volunteer Center, will feature a wide variety of service projects at locations across the county for residents of all ages.

Projects include packaging food for the hungry, making dog toys for animal shelters, creating blankets for hospice, crafting appreciation cards for military troops and more.

Below is a list of service projects that you and your family can get involved with:

 

Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center — Volunteer Fair & Service Projects

5701 Marinelli Road – Parking is off-site this year—find sings for Conference Center parking at 3160 Executive Blvd, Rockville, MD 20852 and there will be a shuttle. Free parking for this event is provided by Marriott. Parking is also available at the White Flint Metro lot across Rockville Pike. Take the walkway under the road.
Time: 1 – 3 pm

Time: 10 am – 12 pm
