Wheaton Library and Rec Center Planning Meeting Set for Sept. 21

The public is invited to a community meeting for status updates on the Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center Capital Improvement Project on Monday, September 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. The meeting, hosted by the Department of General Services (DGS) in conjunction with the departments of Public Libraries and Recreation, will be held at the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad, 2400 Arcola Ave., Silver Spring.

Staff from DGS will discuss the project, display proposed design drawings and be available to answer questions. The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-summer 2016 and be completed in 2018.

Montgomery County will provide sign language interpreters and other auxiliary aids or services upon request – with as much advanced notice as possible, preferably at least three business days prior to the meeting.
