Wheaton Interim Library to Close June 22

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) announced that the Wheaton Interim Library located at 2400 Arcola Ave. will close June 22 at 6 p.m. The new Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center is projected to open in late summer. According to Anita Vassallo, who is the acting director of the libraries, staff will be working to reorganize the collections and prepare for the opening of the new library.

The County’s General Services website reports the new library and recreation center is currently 87% complete.

The new Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center is currently under construction and is located at the corner of Georgia and Arcola Avenues in Wheaton.

Information regarding the closing, including the last date for book returns in the branch and the last date for placement of holds for pick up at the Wheaton Interim location will be available on the Wheaton Interim Library website.
