What’s Open, What’s Not in Montgomery County for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Montgomery County released the holiday schedule for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, which is observed January 20.
- County Offices — closed.
- Libraries — closed.
- County Liquor Stores — open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Recreation Centers — closed.
- Aquatics Facilities — open.

- Ride On — Modified holiday schedule. Route information available at https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Transit/SpecialHoliday.html.
- Ride On Flex — No service on holidays.
- Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com.
- TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center — open.
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – closed.
- Refuse/recycling Collections – County-provided trash and recycling collection will not be collected Monday, Jan. 20. After the holiday, county-provided recycling and trash collections will slide, and be one day later than normal with last collection Saturday, Jan.25.
- The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station — entire facility closed.
- Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free.
- MCPS Schools and Administrative Offices — closed.
- State offices and courts — closed.
