What’s Open and What’s Closed on Christmas Day in Montgomery County

Montgomery County has posted the following holiday schedule for Monday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas:

  • County offices – closed.
  • Libraries – closed.
  • County liquor stores – Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, all DLC stores will open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Closed Dec. 25.
  • Recreation – Aquatic, community recreation and senior centers are closed.
  • Montgomery Parks – For operating schedule, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org
  • Ride On – Sunday schedule (Riders can access the route schedule).  Ride On services end at 10 p.m. on December 24
  • Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • Metrorail – Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – closed.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – closed.
  • Recycling Center – No collection Dec. 25. . Collection will be one day later for the week of Dec. 25.
  • The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – Facility will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31. Closed Dec. 25
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free.
  • State offices and courts – closed.

The City of Gaithersburg government will observe the following holiday schedule for Christmas:

The City of Rockville government will observe the following holiday schedule for Christmas

  •  City Hall and all city facilities will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 for Christmas Day.
  • Croydon Creek Nature Center will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31. The center is closed Mondays.
  • During the last two weeks of the month, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be open only from 2-7 p.m. Dec. 19, 20, 26 and 27. The box office will resume regular hours Tuesday, Jan. 2. Tickets are always available at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
  • Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 24, 26 and 31, and closed Dec. 25
  • The Rockville Senior Center, including the Fitness Room, is closed Sundays and will be closed Dec. 25
  • The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31 and closed Dec. 25
  • Parking at city-owned meters will be free on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
  • Recycling and refuse will be collected one day later throughout those weeks.
