Weekend Planner (Photos & Video)
Glen Echo holiday festivities continue this weekend with their annual Holiday Art Show and Sale, the Puppet co. productions of The Nutcracker and The Nutcracker Fantasy for the youngest theater goers. Adventure Theatre’s Twelve Days of Christmas is also at the Park. All the shows close this weekend, but you can return next weekend for the Holiday Art Show.
Holiday light displays are also coming to an end, but there is still time to visit. Learn more in Holiday Light Festivals Brighten Montgomery County. The Winter Lights Festival in Gaithersburg had a first this year when a Damascus man proposed to his high school sweetheart.
The region’s SoberRide runs through Jan. 1. Free taxi rides are offered from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly to anyone who feels they should not be driving. Please call 300.200.8294 (TAXI) to receive a free cab ride home. AT&T customers may dial #WRAP from their wireless phones. You must be 21 or older to use the SoberRide service.
