- Germantown Glory Music and Fireworks begins at 7 p.m. at the South Germantown Recreational Park

- Mid-County Sparkles! music and fireworks begins at 7:30 p.m. at Albert Einstein High School. Parking at Westfield Wheaton Plaza with shuttle bus service.
- Olney Theatre presents Avenue Q at 8 p.m.

Saturday, July 5
- the Puppet Co. presents The Wizard of Oz at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Glen Echo Park
- Imagination Stage presents The BFG based on the book by Roald Dahl at 1:30 and 4 p.m.
- BlackRock Summer Concerts return with the The Commodores at 7 p.m. in Germantown
