• Otus the Owl will be on hand at the Meadowside Nature Center’s Owl-O-Ween Campfire at 6 p.m. Registration required.
• The Sichuan Opera House of Chengdu will perform Desire Under the Elms in Rockville at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

• Gaithersburg’s Arts on the Green program for young children features Not My Monkey at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• The 5th Annual WUMCO Walk and Fall Festival takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at Whalen Commons in Poolesville
• Lakeforest Mall’s Mall-O-Ween from Noon to 3 p.m.includes trick-or-treating from Noon to 2 p.m.
• Silver Spring’s East County Recreation center is throwing a Halloween Extravaganza for children ages K through 5th grade at Noon
• Attend a lecture and demonstration on repurposing treasured garments into memory quilts at the Sandy Spring Museum at 12:30 p.m.
• Adults may want to take the AARP Smart Driver class at the Germantown Library at 1 p.m. Registration required.
