Friday, July 22: 

  • Friday Night Live Concert Series at Rockville Town Square features Southern Funk by The Shack Band at 6:30 p.m. Free.
  • Wrap the work week up with Gaithersburg’s Zumba in the Park at the City Hall Concert Pavilion at 7 p.m.
  • VisArts in Rockville will be celebrating three art exhibits with an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. “First Cut” by Nicole Mueller includes large-scale abstract paintings and is located in the Gibbs Street Gallery. Eric Celarier’s “Alternative Evolution Series” is located in the Common Ground Gallery. Both exhibits are on display now through August 21. A third juried exhibit, Gen-Y 3.0, for artists 17-27 years is on display now through August 28.
  • Rockville Musical Theatre’s production of Rent continues tonight at 8 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville.
  • In partnership with Wildwood Summer Theatre, Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn presents Grease at 8 p.m.
  • Landau Murphy Jr. performs a benefit concert for West Virginia flood relief at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
  • Olney Theatre presents the award-winning musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at 8 p.m.

Saturday, July 23: 

  • The 27th Annual Farm Tour and Harvest Sale takes place today and tomorrow. More than 20 farms will be open for a tour according to the flyer. Many will have hayrides, pony rides, music, demonstrations and more activities. Hours each farm will be open and their address may be found on the map to the right by clicking on one of the red pins.
  • Rockville hosts a free yoga session at 9 a.m. in Israel Park.
  • Gold’s Gym leads a free Zumba workout at Rockville Town Square at 10 a.m.
  • Montgomery County Animal Adoption Center is waiving adoption fees today for the Clear the Shelters event in Derwood from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • In partnership with Wildwood Summer Theatre, Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn presents Grease at 2 and 8 p.m.
  • Walk with local artists to see the the five storm drain murals in the Twinbrook area of Rockville. The tour beings at 2 p.m. on Chapman Avenue in front of the Twinbrook Metro Station.
  • BlackRock Center for the Arts is hosting receptions at 2 p.m. for their “All the Ways In” photography exhibit, “A Love Affair with Light” photography exhibit and “Lines / Edges” exhibit. Artists Alexandra Silverthorne, D.B. Stovall and Chee-Keong Kung will be available for questions and Kung will present remarks at 3 p.m.
  • The BlackRock Center for the Arts free summer concert tonight features The Empresarios performing salsa, cumbia, reggae and dub at 7 p.m.
  • Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club present reggae by I & I Riddim at 8 p.m.
  • Rockville Musical Theatre’s production of Rent continues tonight at 8 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville.
  • Olney Theatre presents the award-winning musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at 2 and 8 p.m.

Sunday, July 24: 

  • The second day of the county-wide Farm Tour is today with 12 farms open. Plan your tour with this flyer.
  • Join a naturalist every Sunday to learn about the animals who live in and around Wheaton Regional Park at 1:30 p.m.
  • Olney Theatre presents the award-winning musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at 2 p.m.
  • Celebrate and learn Nigerian culture and heritage today at Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring  from noon to 7 p.m.
  • The Duvall family will tell the story of their farm which is located near Damascus at the Germantown King Barn Dairy MOOseum. The farm has been in their family for four generations.
  • In partnership with Wildwood Summer Theatre, Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn presents Grease at 2 p.m.
  • Rockville Musical Theatre’s production of Rent has a show at 2 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville.
  • Singer-songwriter Jackie Greene, former member of The Black Crowes, performs at AMP by Strathmore at 8 p.m.

Looking ahead: Pretty in Pink actress Molly Ringwald joins Dave Damiani & The No Vacancy Orchestra at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club Thursday, July 28th.
