- Olney Theatre presents the award-winning musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at 8 p.m.
- AMP by Strathmore presents local blues band The Nighthawks at 8 p.m. Cable County Montgomery’s Susan Kenedy profiled the band in this video.
- The Happenstance Theater group presents Moxie at Round House Theatre tonight at 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 16:
- Gaithersburg’s 4th Annual Sports Fest celebrates youth sports. Activities include a 1K Fun Run, challenges in baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball and track and field. Sports Fest takes place at Bohrer Park at Sukmmit Hall Farm from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
- Takoma Radio will begin broadcasting at 94.3 FM and will host an open house with a day of activities starting with the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony at 9 a.m.
- It’s Robotics Day at Kid Museum in Bethesda. Great for all ages.
- In partnership with Wildwood Summer Theatre, Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn presents Grease at 2 and 8 p.m.
- The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest has a new course this year and kicks off at 6 p.m.
- The BlackRock Center for the Arts free summer concert tonight features The Quebe Sisters (rhymes with maybe) performing western swing at 7 p.m.
- Coffee shop BumpNGrind in Silver Spring hosts a special fundraiser for the YMCA-Youth and Family Services Silver Spring branch with an acoustic listening concert at 7 p.m.
- It’s comedy night at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club with Joe Clair & Friends with performances at 7 and 10 p.m.
