Week in Music: Fall Music Festivals (VIDEOS & PHOTO)
Fall is my absolute favorite season. The cooler weather means the leaves changing color, layered clothing and of course awesome music festivals! And this coming Saturday is jam packed with shows in and around Montgomery County.
The Sandy Spring Museum is hosting its Route 108 Fall Music Festival this Saturday. The festival will feature bluegrass and jazz musicians. The festival will also have blue grass and jazz workshops as well as craft beer, wine, food trucks, a local juried art show.
Below is the schedule for the main stage.
- Noon-1:00: Avril Smith & Friends w/special guest, Rickie Simpkins
- 1:30-2:30pm – Nasar Abadey
- 3:00-4:00pm – Darol Anger & The Republic of Strings
- 4:30-5:30pm – Paul Bollenback Organ Extravaganza
- 5:30-6:00pm – All Roads Lead to the Blues (Grand Finale w/ Paul Bollenback, Darol Anger & Friends)
Pike and Rose is holding its PiketoberFest on Saturday as well. The event is sponsored by Mix107.3, Friends of White Flint and Yelp. Special Occasions Band and Bobby Thompson & Revelator Hill will be performing courtesy of AMP by Strathmore.
And if you’re heading to D.C. this weekend you can catch All Things Go’s Fourth Annual Fall Classic Music Festival. This year’s festival will feature Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Sylvan Esso, Christine And The Queens, Bishop Briggs, POP ETC, Sofi Tukker and Ace Cosgrove. And if you’re like me, festivals are more than just about the music, it’s also about the food. The Fall Classic will have bites themed after the acts.
If you’re headed to any of these music festivals over the weekend be sure to share your pictures and videos by tweeting @MyMCMedia or emailing them to pix@mymcmedia.org. I’d love to hear about your festival experience!
