Wednesday’s School Closure Pushes Summer Vacation Back
Wednesday weather-related school closure means summer vacation will start later than anticipated for Montgomery County Public School students.
Weather permitting, June 15 will be the last day of classes for students which is the last day under Gov. Larry Hogan’s executive order school districts can hold classes.
This latest extension in the school-year comes just weeks after the district’s fourth-related school closure that pushed the end of the school-year to June 14.
Now that the district has reached its limit on extensions per state law, spring break could be altered if schools are closed again:
- An additional weather closure will result in the first day of spring break, Mar. 26, as the make-up day.
- If there are two more closures, Mar. 27, the second day of spring break, will be used as a make-up day.
