Judge Megan Fox’s comments on the show:
“I found the overall quality of the work to be very high and was impressed by the variety of styles and techniques presented by PVW members. I was attracted to the works with strong, eye-catching color and/or compositions and to the pieces that displayed a mastery and control of the medium. I chose “Wet and Wild” by Muriel Ebitz as the First Place Award for its juicy, bight color and the mesmerizing effect of watercolor on Yupo. Alice Kale”s “Zinnias” is an exuberant, yet detailed study with an eye-catching composition.
Finally, I selected Leigh Culver’s “Pods” for its out-of-the-ordinary botanical subject matter and all over, almost abstracted qualities. The honorable mentions all displayed a high level of proficiency and an interesting take on the subject.”
The Award winners are:
1st Place: Muriel Ebitz for ” Wet and Wild”
2nd Place: Alice Kale for ” Zinnias”
3rd Place: Leigh Culver for “Pods”
Honorable Mentions to:
Neyla Arnas for “Oozing Flowers”
