Water Shooting Like Geyser from Main Break in Bethesda

UPDATED- Water has been shut off and repairs are underway to a break in a 36-inch water line on Fernwood Road.

ORIGINAL – A water line break in Bethesda has water shooting out like a geyser on Fernwood Road.

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission spokeswoman Ayoka Blandford said the break was reported at about 3:30 p.m. and an inspector is out on the scene.

Fernwood Road was closed between Rock Spring Drive and Rockledge Drive, according to police, as the water is “shooting up over the trees.”
