Water Main Ruptures in Silver Spring
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is on the scene of the second water main break in two days, this time in Silver Spring.
The break occurred on a 12-inch line in the 15400 block of Good Hope Road at about 11 a.m., according to WSSC Spokesperson Jerry Irvine. He said he is not sure how many customers are affected by the break.
Traffic gets by on one lane on Good Hope Road.
On Wednesday, a major water main break occurred in Wheaton along Georgia Avenue. In that incident 2.5 million gallons of water spilled onto the road and nearby properties.
