Water Main Break, Road Closure

wsscUPDATED A 10-inch water main break has resulted in a road closure at Linden Lane near Monroe Street in Silver Spring.

It happened on July 6 at 8:30 p.m., according to Lyn Riggins, a spokesperson for Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). Riggins said about 22 accounts are impacted by the water main break. She said the break occurred on a neighborhood street. The exact cause of the break is unknown at this point, Riggins said.

“It’s a tough repair,” said Riggins, who said WSSC hopes to have the water back on by noon today (July 7).

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer tweeted out news of the leak on his Twitter account last night and again today.
