Water Main Break in Kentlands (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

wssc4Repairs are now complete on an eight-inch water main break that occurred at 2 p.m. on June 10th in the Kentlands community of Gaithersburg.

Lyn Riggins, a spokesperson for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), said service was disrupted for dozens of residents at three apartment buildings adjacent to Chevy Chase Street.

A portion of Chevy Chase Street was closed to traffic while emergency repairs were underway.

It took WSSC crews several hours to repair the break.

So far, there’s no word on what caused the pipe to break.
