Water Main Break Repairs Complete at University Boulevard in Silver Spring (PHOTOS)
UPDATED at 4:30 p.m. Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) crews completed repairs to a 12-inch water main at 701 East University Boulevard in Silver Spring earlier this afternoon. At this time, only one eastbound lane of University Boulevard is open. Crews continue to repave the roadway, but commuters should be prepared for delays.
UPDATED Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) crews are working on repairs at a 12-inch water main break at 701 East University Boulevard in Silver Spring.
Commuters may want to avoid the area. There are lane closures between Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue because of the utility work.
The water main is 88 years old, according to WSSC officials. All customers have water.
