Washington Spirit Kicks Off Training Camp Today

Washington SpiritThe Washington Spirit opened its National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) 2016 training camp today in Boyds.

It will be a week of training in advance of the team’s first preseason match at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Maureen Hendricks Field at the Maryland SoccerPlex against the University of Virginia.

The Spirit acquired a few new players in the off season, including forward Katie Stengel and defender Alyssa Kleiner. The Spirit also received two new Canadian allocations – defender Shelina Zadorsky and goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé.
